Ballet: (Ages 7-Adult) Ballet focuses on discipline, poise strength, and gracefulness thru barre exercises, adagio, jumps, turns, and proper body placement; turnout and terminology will be emphasized. Ballet is the foundation of all dances, therefore, constant repetition and class time is crucial for this form of dance. Levels 2-5 require dancers to attend a minimum 3 hours a week. Combo Class: (Ages 3-6) It's a combination of ballet, jazz, tap and tumbling! Your tiny tot will learn hand-eye coordination, rhythm, how to work well with others, fun and exciting routines and confidence in a way that keeps their attention so they are on their way to becoming a fabulous performer!
Hip-Hop: (Ages 7-Adult) Hip-Hop is a freestyle form of dance that was born on the streets and is now very popular on TV and in studios. Important aspects of Hip-Hop are musicality, ENERGY and ATTITUDE. People of all ages are sure to have a blast in this class, and you'll be sure to get a work-out too!
Jazz: (Ages 7-Adult) Jazz dance is greatly aided by proper ballet technique. It is taught in a more relaxed style than ballet. With a strong technical foundation, it enables the dancer to focus on the stylistic and performing aspects of dance. With its high energy body isolations and varied rhythmic accents, jazz is one of the most popular forms of dance because of its wide variety of styles from old Broadway, 50's, 60's,70's,80's & 90's thru to today!
Lyrical/Contemporary: (Ages 12-Adult) is a fusion of ballet and jazz technique. Lyrical/Contemporary can be a slower moving dance, fused with grace, passion, and elegance to interpret the music or words, showing the audience the EMOTION of a particular piece. ***Must be enrolled in Ballet to participate in this class***
Broadway Production: (Ages 7-Adult) This class is a combination of theory and dance. Students will learn what it takes to put on an actual Musical Theater Production, ranging from scripts, set design, costumes, producing, acting, singing, dancing and even lights and sound! Guest speakers from Music Theater of Wenatchee will show you the ropes in their specialty making YOU the best thespian you can be!
Technique: is a core strengthening classes primarily focused on body alignment, turns and leaps. This class is for student ages 13 and above.
Tap: (Ages 7-Adult) Tap is literally drumming with your feet! The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates of the dancer's shoes touch a hard floor. This lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer, but also a percussive musician. Tap helps develope concentration, coordination, & rhythm. It's both fun & challenging!
